Action Sports Events for November 2023

It’s the start of a new month, so as always, we’ve put together the must-see events for November. See all the latest UK Skateboarding, Skating and Scooter events right here and maybe we’ll see you at a few of them!

 

Yoga for Skaters

When: 1st, 8th, 15th November

Where: The Wild Box Yoga Studio, Bristol

How long: 7:45 PM - 8:45 PM

What’s Happening:

Boost mobility & flexibility, find your balance on & off the board, strengthen muscles & help prevent future injuries.

All yoga levels & all skate types (longboard, skateboard, surf skate, roller, etc) are welcome!

About your instructor, Danielle: An experienced Hatha Vinyasa, Yin & Restorative teacher and a skater for the last 8 years.

 

 

Filming session for women and marginalised genders

When: 4th November

Where: Campus Pool, Bristol

How long: 6 PM - 8 PM

What’s Happening:

If you can’t see it you can’t be it! And it’s for this reason that we’d love you amazing women, girls, and folk of marginalised genders, to help make a Campus edit by showcasing your skills on camera.

Campus will have filmers on hand to help you stack clips and who will then work their magic into a film.

Hang out, skate with friends and eat pizza.

 

 

Queer skate night

When: 5th November

Where: Projekts, Manchester

How long: 6 PM - 9 PM

What’s Happening:

All queer identities are welcome, on all wheels and of all abilities!!

Skateboard coaching will be available free of charge, as well as a collaborative collage workshop with all materials provided.

 

Flipper's LDN 1st Anniversary Ft. Joe Kay & Moodymann

When: 10th November

Where: Flipper's LDN

How long: 8 PM - 3 AM

What’s Happening:

Two legendary DJs that need no introduction. Joe Kay & Moodymann transcend music as they both strive to unite global culture and community via Soulection and Soul Skate - They are here to celebrate Flipper's 1st Anniversary in true style. This is a once-in-a-lifetime session!

 

Street Art

When: 11th November

Where: BYC Skatepark

How long: 3 PM - 10 PM

What’s Happening:

They'll be hosting a mega jam down this custom-built stair and Hubba monstrosity downstairs. The open jam format is open to anyone who fancies themselves as a stair connoisseur. Under and over 16s sessions with prizes for tricks throughout the day. 

BYC will also be host to the premiere of Street Art, the new full-length video by Drawing Boards, featuring the full team and shot all over the UK and Europe. 

 

 

Queer & Marginalised Genders Skate

When: 11th November

Where: Flo Skatepark, Nottingham

How long: 6 PM - 9 PM

What’s Happening:

Coaching for all abilities and supportive New Wave friendly faces on-hand for support where desired throughout the session, plus loads of boards to borrow for free!

As always, under 16s will need a helmet and a parent present if it is their first time.

 

Picnic Bench Jam

When: 19th November

Where: Barnstaple

How long: 10 AM - 5 PM

What’s Happening:

A skateboard jam based around street skateboarding cult classic - ‘a picnic bench’! Custom built around the dimensions of the US School bench along with another built super small like a manual pad.

The event will run for the day across two formats. Firstly a free skate jam with product-based prizes based on how hard you ride for your ability. The free skate is about fun and your personal achievements, it's about you pushing yourself and not how you compare to others.

Secondly, a more formally structured comp where your run is judged and scored. The highest scores go through to the final where the prizes are cash money 1st £250 2nd £150 3rd £50 4th £50

Alongside the Main event, there will also be a Full Bowl supplied by Southwest Ramps for all to skate

The Picnic bench jam is open to everybody regardless of age and gender and all spectators are welcome. This community event is for all to enjoy and will be family-friendly. There will be seating and tables dotted about along with cake and coffee traders. Please also feel free to buy food from other local traders in town or bring things along.

To compliment the skate Jam the sound system will be coming along with live DJs playing music all day. Reggae, hip-hop and associated genres will be the order of the day. 

 

Tri-Service Annual Skateboarding Jam

When: 19th November

Where: Flo Skatepark, Nottingham

How long: 6 PM - 9 PM

What’s Happening:

The UK Military Skate Jam, Open to service personnel and veterans and will see all services showcase amazing skills. All abilities are welcome, even if you are a complete beginner.

 

 

Frontside x Street Wise winter bash

When: 19th November

Where: Creation Skatepark, Birmingham

THIS IS A SCOOTER ONLY EVENT

 

 

NottingJam

When: 25th - 26th November

Where: Flo Skatepark, Nottingham

What’s Happening:

It is set to be one of the biggest skateboard events of the year with a whopping prize fund of £4,000!

Saturday 25th November - Street Competition opens with male and female events

Sunday 26th November - Park Competition with an U16 comp and an open event.(male and female)

 

 

Skateboard Exhibition

When: Now till June

Where: Design Museum, London

What’s Happening:

skateboard will chronicle the history of skateboard design from the 1950s to the present day, from homemade, humble beginnings to today’s professional and technologically advanced models.

Curated and designed by author, designer and skater Jonathan Olivares, this will be the first UK exhibition to explore the evolution of skateboard design in such detail, developed in partnership with Converse.
