Yes, a lot of school kids cycle to school on their BMXs because they are smaller, lighter and easy to handle. People use their BMX bikes for commuting to wherever they are going and racing too. What is the difference between a freecoaster and a freewheel?

A freewheel is what’s on the majority of bikes, it’s how bikes function, you peddle, you go forward, whereas if you go backwards, the bike takes the peddles in a backwards motion with it. A free coaster, however, disengages this movement. This allows you to do tricks when you land backwards and you don’t have to peddle with it in order to do so.

Absolutely, you will need to do this moving forward, replacing your worn out grips, tyres and so on. You will just need to ensure that any parts are compatible with your BMX and you will want to consider if it will affect your warranty in any way.
