Survival of the Sickest, Greystones

What is the Survival Of the Sickest?

It's a junior event made by Skateboard GB. This is a fun event with a great opportunity for up and coming skateboarders who want to compete in a friendly atmosphere. It is a one day event which runs at SBGB Hub Skateparks with two age categories, Under 16’s and Under 12’s.

On Saturday 4th March 2023, Survival of the Sickest took place in Manchester's Graystone action sport centre, where a load of Skaters came down from all over the UK including Miriam Nelson, Olive Newman, Sebastian Lau, Corey Roper and many more. For some of the Skaters it was their first time that they had entered an event like this or had been to a Skate comp, so to have this experience would have felt awesome, making new friends and having an amazing time shredding around all day.

The Survival of the Sickest event series is being held over a 6 month period. The first of the event series was held at Baysixty6 in London, the second event was held at Flo Skatepark in Nottingham and the most recent event was held at Greystone Action Sports Center in Manchester. The brands that sponsored this event series were Tech Deck, Oakley, Fallen, Stance, Triple8, DC Skateboarding and Grizzly Griptape

The Survival of the Sickest had 4 categories, U12 Street Boys, U12 Street Girls, U16 Park Boys and then U16 Park Girls.

U12 Street boys winners were Jowan Richards in First, Rory Buckly in Second and Corey Roper in Third.

Next time there's a skate event by Skateboard GB we highly recommend taking part. All you will need is a Skateboard, Skate Shoes, we recommend Vans and to be careful, wear a Helmet and Knee Pads because falling over is a part of skateboarding.
