The Best Skateboard Decks – Spring 2024 Edition

As spring approaches and the weather starts to brighten, every skateboarder will be eagerly awaiting the return to their beloved skate park, get back on their board and shred in the glorious sunlight we were deprived of during the winter months.

We’re starting strong and this might be an easy choice, but the Kevin Braun deck from Santa Cruz is mind-bendingly awesome, with artwork resembling like something from a Crumb comic. Vicious melting pizzas, one-eyed tacos and screaming hand…I mean noodles, are the theme for this graphic. You’ve even got a bit of holo-foil, so it might be one for sentimental value rather than riding on, but either way, you’ll be turning heads.

Creature Abyss Pro – John Gardner 8.25”

Creature are well known for their gnarly deck designs and this John Gardner 8.25” is no exception, bringing back the signature green colour scheme and garish graphics, so everyone will know you’re riding a Creature deck within a split second. The thing about Creature skateboard decks though, is that you never want to put any stickers on them, because they just look so good as they are. All you’d need to do is choose an equally gnarly grip tape to complete the look!

Girl OG - Modernica 8”

The Girl signature symbol is prevalent in all their decks, but this one just stands out from the rest. With a clean decorative floral pattern within their logo, surrounded by a white background, you can feel free to add your own stamp to this beaut. You’ve got the usually 7-ply with this board so it’ll be a pleasure to ride and add to your collection if you just so happen to be a fan of Girl skateboards.

Thank You – Floral Foil 8”

This deck is a favourite with the guys in the skate shop and it’s no wonder why. This is a fantastic decorative deck…a deck-orative? Ok, bad puns aside, the floral foil design (waitaminute, there’s a theme in this blog!) is what makes this stand out and would be a popular choice for mounting on the wall, even doubling as a welcome sign for any home with “Thank You” proudly displayed across a beautiful graphic so all your guests can see what amazing taste in skateboards you have!
