Video Interview with Team Shove It

Team Shove It is a Skate collective from the midlands with members from all over the UK. Our exclusive interview with Adam and Neil, key members of the group, shed light on the origins and evolution of Team Shove It.

The roots of this collective trace back to when Adam and Neil met in Droitwich. United by their love for skateboarding, they frequented the Droitwich banks sadly droitwich banks aren't there anymore.

However, as one chapter closed, another one opened with the advent of Unit 360 in Stourbridge. This skate park became a pivotal hub for Team Shove It. Adam and Neil found themselves drawn to the over-30s night at Unit 360, where they crossed paths with many members of the collective. In retrospect, Unit 360 is considered the starting point for Team Shove It.

Worcester is their main hub for skating, Blockside became a staple renowned for its curbs and distinctive marble blocks, Blockside provided the perfect canvas for the team to showcase their skills and creativity. In addition to Worcester's Blockside, Team Shove It explored various other street spots, including Bournebrook and Fastlands.

Team Shove It has documented their skateboarding journey through videos, each showcasing their unique style and the diverse landscapes they conquered. In 2018, they released a video titled "Old Enough to Know Better." This video features street skating, capturing the essence of being "just out on the streets." Neil, a prominent member of Team Shove It, also contributed to YouTube with his video titled "Quadragenarian." In this video, a significant portion of the team makes appearances including a huge part from the guys up in Glasgow.

Not only do the team create videos but they create zine as well. One noteworthy zine, "Slow and Low," is the brainchild of team member Roy. This zine stands out for its captivating photography and intriguing graphics. Additionally, Adam has created a zine that not only celebrates the skateboarding scene but also focuses on interviewing and highlighting the stories of riders rooted in Birmingham. By featuring the experiences and perspectives of local riders.
